Tool Steel Available from Stock
We offer a wide range of tool steels directly from stock, suitable for cold and hot work applications, plastic mold steels, and mold steels for light-metal die casting.
Cold Work Tool Steels
Designed for operating temperatures up to approx. 200°C. Our cold work steels include:
- 1.2080 – Highest hardness and maximum wear resistance.
- 1.2379 – Secondary-hardening steel with excellent wear resistance and good toughness.
- 1.2358 – Pre-hardened steel with high toughness and excellent surface hardening capabilities.
- 1.2510 and 1.2842 – Standard cold work steels offering a strong balance of price and performance.
- 1.2767 – High toughness combined with good polishability.
These steels are especially suited for the production of cutting, stamping, bending, and forming tools, providing characteristics such as high wear resistance, through-hardenability, toughness, polishability, and effective surface hardening, tailored to specific requirements.
Hot Work Tool Steels
Suitable for operating temperatures exceeding 200°C, including:
- 1.2343 and 1.2344 – Primarily used for aluminum die-casting molds. Available also in ESR quality (electro-slag remelting process) for demanding applications.
- 1.2714 – Ideal for forging dies, extrusion tools, and various other heavy-duty applications, offering exceptional compressive strength and heat resistance. Available in soft-annealed or highly-tempered versions.
Corrosion-Resistant, Pre-Hardened Tool Steels
We provide corrosion-resistant steels pre-hardened specifically for use with corrosive plastics:
- 1.2316 – Pre-hardened, corrosion-resistant mold steel.
- 1.2085 – Pre-hardened mold steel with sulfur additives to improve machinability.
- 1.2083 – Offers superior polishability, ideal for high-quality finishes.
- 1.2083 ESU – Available for applications requiring the highest purity and material consistency.
We precisely cut your required dimensions three-dimensionally from homogeneously forged bar stock, ensuring quality, precision, and consistency in every piece.Your Attractive Heading
